The Workshops of Freedom:
Resources to Fight Gender Stereotypes
Gender stereotypes still govern the lives of both girls and boys.
I recently witnessed a clear example of this while sitting in a university lecture hall with first-year students: the boys in dress shirts were studying management, while the girls, dressed more colorfully, were in social studies programs.
Requests from Professionals
More and more professionals are seeking to get involved by offering activities, workshops, and talks for young people on these topics.

Workshop Ideas to Challenge Gender Stereotypes
- Identify how gender stereotypes have influenced our lives
- Identify when, how, by whom, and where we were treated a certain way because we were categorized as “girl” or “boy”
- Have these experiences impacted our current lives (personal, social, or professional)? If so, how?
- What do we want to do about it? How can we take action?
